Course Description:

The Kinesio Stretch Therapy treatment seeks to improve flexibility and tissue elasticity as it is an important component of muscle recovery and pain management. The purpose of this course is to offer an assisted stretching protocol to clients through facilitated movements. The protocol includes a combination of both muscle energy techniques and dynamic stretching to maximize results.

The main benefits of the Kinesio Stretch Therapy method include: enhancing athletic performance, movement re-education, restoring mobility, decreasing pain, increasing blood circulation, mobilizing fascial restrictions, and promoting overall quality of life. It also helps retrain the nervous system by implementing specific movement patterns that reintroduce the body into all three planes of motion: sagittal, frontal, and transverse.

The Kinesio Acupressure Therapy is based on traditional Eastern medicine practice that involves treating blocked energy, or qi, by applying manual pressure to specific points on the body. It is similar to acupuncture, except that it uses fingertip pressure or elbows instead of needles. By improving energy flow, acupressure is said to help with a range of conditions from motion sickness to headaches, and in this specific course-muscle pain.

A practitioner applies pressure to specific acupressure points to restore healthy energy flow. The points they choose depend on your symptoms. Given how meridians run, pressure points used may be a long way from the site of the symptom. For example, an acupressure point on the foot may be used to relieve sciatica pain.
